Best countertop estimating and quoting software (2026)

The shop that quotes first usually gets the job. An estimating tool earns its price when a measurement turns into a correct, branded quote without retyping anything, ideally before you leave the customer's driveway.

This guide compares the countertop quoting tools stone shops use on that one job: from measurements to a priced quote the customer can approve.

Disclosure. We make Stone Project, and it is on this list. Every other entry uses only what that vendor publishes on its own website, checked on October 1, 2026. Where another product is the better pick for a shop, the entry says so. Prices change: confirm with the vendor before you buy.

The list

#1

Stone Project

Best for: Quoting at the kitchen table, on a phone or iPad

Draw the top, tag the edges and drop in the cutouts; your price book prices it as you draw. Stone can be priced per square foot or by the full slab. One quote can carry several stone options, each with its own slab layout, and the client approves the one they want online.

The AI Drawing Assistant drafts the drawing from a text description, a photo of a hand sketch, a PDF or a DXF, and you check it before it prices anything.

Price

From $129.99/mo (Solo, 1 user, 12-month promo). Regular $149.99/mo. 3 users $199.99/mo promo.

Trial

14 days, no credit card

Where it wins

  • Price book with material tiers, edges per linear foot, cutouts per piece, splash, fabrication and install labor.
  • Per-square-foot or per-slab stone pricing, set per area.
  • Several stone options in one quote, each with its own slab layout or its own drawing.
  • Branded PDF plus a client link to approve and pay a deposit.
  • A quote widget for your website that sends leads, with their drawing, straight into the CRM.
  • Automated follow-ups on quotes nobody answered.

Watch out for

  • No photo-based vein matching (that is Slabsmith's job).
  • Not a nesting optimizer for production: Magic Layout places pieces on slabs for the quote, it does not promise a yield percentage.

#2

Moraware

Best for: The best-known draw-and-quote tool (CounterGo)

CounterGo is the quoting habit in a lot of US shops: draw the job, lay it on slabs and price it, often in front of the customer. It is one of three Moraware products.

Published price

CounterGo $100/user/mo; Systemize $120/user/mo (3-user minimum, $50/user after 5); Inventory $50/user/mo (requires Systemize). Billed monthly, no contract, no implementation fee (moraware.com/pricing).

Trial

No trial version — buying starts with a 30-minute call

Where it wins

  • Layout-on-slab quoting that many estimators already know.
  • Connects to Systemize when the job is sold.

Watch out for

  • No trial version, and CounterGo is priced per user ($100/month each).
  • Scheduling and inventory are separate products.

#3

iCounterSoft

Best for: Self-serve draw-to-quote at a low monthly price

Draw in the browser and the quantities come straight off the drawing into your price lists: edges, cutouts, splashes, slab layout and vein matching, then quote to invoice to payment. Professional adds DXF import that draws the pieces, scheduling and QuickBooks Online or Xero sync.

Published price

Standard $70/mo, Professional $149/mo (1 user each); extra users $39/mo. Month to month, no setup fee (icountersoft.com/pricing).

Trial

14 days; a card is required to start

Where it wins

  • Published from $70/month, month to month, no setup fee.
  • DXF import that turns a file into priced pieces (Professional).

#4

SlabWise

Best for: Quotes that have to match the production nest

SlabWise ties its quick quote to AI nesting and DXF checks, so the slab count on the quote comes from the same engine that plans the cut.

Published price

Starter $99/mo, Pro $299/mo, Enterprise $799/mo (3 / 5 / unlimited seats, extra seats $20/mo). Nesting optimizer from Pro. $1 for the first 14 days on any plan (slabwise.com/pricing).

Trial

$1 for the first 14 days, any plan

Where it wins

  • Yield-driven quoting if waste per slab is your margin problem.
  • Published plans from $99/month; the nesting optimizer starts at Pro ($299/month).

Watch out for

  • CRM, portal approvals and QuickBooks are not the headline.

Trial

Spring: 14-day free trial. Process and Performance: through sales.

What a countertop estimate has to price

Whatever tool you use, every one of these should come from a price book, not from memory:

Per square foot or by the slab?

Most residential quotes price stone per square foot. Many shops buy by the slab, though, and quoting "three slabs at $X" protects the margin on expensive material where the offcut has no second buyer.

Pick a tool that does both and lets you decide per job. If the slab count drives the price, it has to come from a real layout of the pieces on the slab, not a guess.

Quotes from your website

A homeowner at 10 p.m. will not call. An instant-quote form on your site lets them sketch the kitchen and request a price, and the lead reaches you with the shape already drawn. Stone Project's quote widget is two lines of HTML on any site and drops the lead, drawing included, into the CRM. On this list, QuickQuote Lite ($60/month) and QuoteIQ's InstaQuote (Elite plan, $299/month) are the other self-quote options.

How we built this list

There are no scores here. The list starts with the tools that cover the most of a countertop job and moves toward the specialists, and each entry says which shop it fits. We did not invent ratings, and we do not quote prices from review sites or competitors' blogs: a number appears only when the vendor publishes it on its own site, and "quote" means it does not.

Stone Project is first because it is the product we build and the one we can describe from the inside. The other entries say where each product is the better fit, including where it beats us.

Questions

What is the best countertop estimating software?

For shops that quote on site and want the quote, the job and the invoice in one app, Stone Project. For shops trained on it, Moraware CounterGo. If the slab count has to match a production nest, SlabWise.

What is the difference between estimating and quoting software?

Estimating is working out the price from measurements, material, edges, cutouts and labor. Quoting is presenting it: the branded document, options, approval and deposit. Good countertop software does both in one step.

Should I price countertops per square foot or per slab?

Per square foot is what most homeowners compare. Per slab protects your margin on premium stone where the leftover will not sell. Stone Project lets you set either one per area of the job.

What is countertop takeoff software?

Takeoff means measuring the tops from plans instead of on site, common on builder and multi-family work. In Stone Project the AI Drawing Assistant reads a PDF or DXF of the plan and drafts the drawing for you to check before it is priced.

Can customers get a countertop quote from my website?

Yes, with an instant-quote widget. Stone Project's widget lets a visitor draw the kitchen, pick material, edges and cutouts, and sends the lead with the drawing into your CRM.
